Incident: Entered Vehicle
Description: Officer Roberts responded to Hillside Avenue on a report of an entered vehicle. The victim advised that the vehicle was entered by an unknown actor on 12/1/2016 between 7pm and 7:30 pm. The unknown actor removed several items from the vehicle. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Medico at 973-748-5400 x 120.

Incident: Entered Vehicle
Description: Officer Holley responded to Hillside Avenue between Linden Avenue and Washington Street on a report of an entered vehicle. The victim advised that the vehicle was entered by an unknown actor on 12/4/2016 between 5:30pm and 7:30 pm. The unknown actor removed several items from the vehicle. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Medico at 973-748-5400 x 120.

Incident: Theft
Description: Officer Uliano responded to Woodland Avenue on a report of a theft. The victim advised that a known person had removed his stereo from the residence. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Sgt. Daniel Manley at 973-748-5400 x 115.

Arrest:

12-08-2016 (Central Avenue) Ms. Ashlee Furguson, 31yoa from Columbia, Georgia, was arrested and charged with DWI.

12-09-2016 (Bloomfield Avenue) Ms. Christina Flores, 33yoa from Elizabeth, was arrested and charged with DWI.

Burglary/Theft:

12-07-2016 (Willowmere Avenue) An unlocked vehicle which was parked in a residential driveway was entered. Unknown on any proceeds at this time.

12-07-2016 (Gates Avenue) Theft of a delivered package from a front porch. This package contained a vacuum cleaner.

12-07-2016 (Gates Avenue) Theft of a delivered package from a front porch. This package contained children’s toys.

12-08-2016 (25 Depot Square, Erie Saloon) Theft of a 2003 Mercury Marquis from a parking space next to the building.

12-08-2016 (Ward Place) Burglary to a residence. Access was gained by breaking a window. A laptop computer and other electronics were taken.

12-08-2016 (Charles Street) Theft from an unlocked motor vehicle. A wallet, containing cash, was taken in this incident.

12-09-2016 (Orange Road, Ferrara’s Auto) Burglary to a commercial establishment. A laptop, cellular telephone, and digital camera were stolen in this incident.

12-09-2016 (Willowdale Avenue) Burglary to a residence. Jewelry was taken in this incident.

12-09-2016 (Montclair Avenue) Theft of a delivered package. This package contained a wristwatch.

12-11-2016 (Bloomfield Avenue, Trend Tea House) Burglary to a commercial establishment. Loose change was taken from the cash register.

12-11-2016 (Watchung Plaza, Wah-Chung Chinese Kitchen) Burglary to a commercial establishment. Cash, a computer, and food products were taken in this incident.

12-11-2016 (Washington Street) Theft of two bicycles from the side yard of a residence.

 

 

Bloomfield Crime: Shoplifting, Stolen Cars, Theft, Drug Arrests

The week in Bloomfield crime from Officer Ralph Marotti, Bloomfield Police Department:

Theft

12/05/2016- Police responded to the Marshalls Store located at 8 Franklin Street on a report of (2) shoplifters. Loss Prevention observed the suspects placing store merchandise inside a bag. Arrested were Bobby Reed-Gavin age 22 of Newark and Ahmari Gilmore age 21 of Edison. Both were issued summons and released with a pending court date.

12/06/2016- A homeowner on Bromley Place reported (2) Holiday outdoor lights were stolen from the front lawn. The lights were valued at $100.00 dollars.

12/06/2016-Twenty dollars in loose change was reported stolen from a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder. The vehicle was parked overnight in the driveway of a residence on Merkel Drive.

12/07/2016- A shoplifting offense was reported to the police occurring at the 7-Eleven Store located at 122 Bloomfield Avenue. The suspect described as a black female age 45-50 years old, entered the store at 5:48am and stole approximately $41.00 dollars in merchandise. The suspect fled the store on foot prior to police arrival. The incident was captured on store video and forwarded to the police department.

12/08/2016- Police were dispatched to North 16th Street on a report of a burglary into a motor vehicle. The vehicle a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant was parked between the hours of 9:30pm and 12:30am with the door left unlocked. The owner reported a backpack containing credit cards and a MacBook Pro was missing from the vehicle.

12/08/2016-A juvenile male age 17 of Newark NJ was arrested at 1:30pm and charged with Theft. PO Salvatore Cordi, while on patrol in the area of LaFrance Ave and Beardsley Ave, observed the juvenile male carrying a package. The package was recently stolen from a residence on Floyd Avenue. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters and turned over to the Youth Aid Bureau for processing and release.

Motor Vehicle Theft

12/08/2016- A 2002 Dodge Caravan Wagon was reported stolen from North 17th Street. The vehicle was parked overnight and discovered missing the next morning at 8:30am.

12/09/2016- A 2006 Ford Econoline Van was reported stolen from Grove Street. The vehicle was parked overnight and discovered missing the next morning at 11:00am. The vehicle contained several power tools valued at $1,500.00 dollars.

12/09/2016-1985 Cadillac Eldorado was reported stolen from Llewellyn Avenue. The vehicle was parked on the street at 9:00pm and discovered missing the next day.

12/09/2016- a 2013 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle was reported stolen from Salter Place. The motorcycle was last seen on December 2, 2016 parked in the alleyway between two houses.

Criminal Mischief

12/05/2016-A 2010 Toyota Corolla was damaged while parked overnight at Abington Avenue and Ampere Parkway. The owner discovered the front passenger side window shattered. Unknown actor(s) entered the vehicle in an attempt to steal the car radio.

Warrant Arrest

12/05/2016-Antonio Acevedo age 31 of Newark NJ was arrested at 12:10am for an active East Orange warrant. A random plate check by police led to the discovery of the registered owner having a suspended driver license. Police initiated a motor vehicle stop at Ampere and 1st Ave. The driver Mr. Acevedo was advised of the warrant and suspended license, He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. Mr. Acevedo was released after posting bail.

12/06/2016-Madan Dukhie age 37 of Irvington NJ was arrested for an active warrant out of Union NJ. Police were dispatched at 1:20pm to Mill Street on a suspicious motor vehicle. Officers arrived and observed a male sleeping inside the vehicle. The male identified as Madan Dukhie was found to have an expired driver license along with the active warrant. He was transported to police headquarters and issued motor vehicle summons for suspended license, Failure to possess an Insurance Card and Unregistered vehicle. He was released with a new court date issued by Union PD.

12/06/2016- Anthony Jenkins age 32 of Bloomfield NJ was arrested for an active warrant out of Bloomfield NJ. Police initiated a motor vehicle stop at Franklin Street and Berkeley Place after a random inquiry led to the discovery of the registered owner having a warrant. Mr. Jenkins the registered owner was advised of the warrant and placed into custody. He was issued a new court date and released after posting bail in the amount of $135.00 dollars.

12/07/2016-Luis Marco age 24 of Newark NJ was arrested at 11:20pm for an active Newark warrant. Police initiated a motor vehicle stop at Heckle Street and Davenport Avenue advising the driver, Mr. Marco of the warrant. Newark PD was contacted and ROR Mr. Marco with a new court date.

Aggravated Assault

12/08/2016- Police were dispatched at 10:30pm to Watchung Avenue on a report of a burglary into a motor vehicle with the suspect fleeing on foot after pointing a firearm at the vehicle owner. The vehicle owner observed the car door open with the suspect leaning inside the vehicle. The suspect after noticing the vehicle owner started to run away as the owner gave chase. The suspect pointed a firearm at the owner telling him to stop. The suspect then continued to run from the scene. Incident captured on home security video and forwarded to police for further investigation.

CDS

12/08/2016-Jerome Robinson age 23 of Irvington NJ was arrested at 8:00pm and charged with Possession of CDS. PO Frank Falco and PO Nicolae Toader initiated a motor vehicle stop on Glenwood Avenue for an expired registration. During the stop officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle. Officers located suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver Mr. Robinson was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. Mr. Robinson was also discovered to have (3) traffic warrants out of Irvington and Scotch Plains NJ.

12/09/2016-Police arrested Samaad Nimmo age 21 and Romelo Gonzalez age 20 both of Newark NJ for numerous narcotic violations. At approximately 4:11am PO Timothy Kealy observed a blue Dodge Caravan make a left turn onto Bloomfield Avenue without properly signaling. A motor vehicle stop was initiated with PO Joseph Davis arriving as the back-up officer. Both Officers detected an odor of marijuana as they approached the vehicle. The rear passenger later identified as Samaad Nimmo attempted to conceal an item and refused to show his hands. He was asked to exit the vehicle, at which time Mr. Nimmo attempted to flee on foot and was apprehended by PO Kealy after a short foot pursuit. Police recovered several multicolored baggies containing crack cocaine that Mr. Nimmo attempted to discard when fleeing from the police. Romelo Gonzalez also a passenger in the vehicle was found to be in possession of a Percocet pill. The driver was released at the scene. Sammad Nimmo was held in lieu of bail set at $35,000.00, Romelo Gonzalez was released after posting bail in the amount of $1,000.00 dollars.

12/10/2016-Juan Holmes age 38 of Belleville NJ was arrested at 11:00am and charged with Possession of CDS. PO Joseph Finkler, while on patrol observed a grey BMW with a darkly tinted license plate frame. A motor vehicle stop was initiated at John F. Kennedy Drive and Bloomfield Avenue. A small zip lock baggie containing suspected marijuana was located inside the vehicle. Mr. Holmes was issued a summons for Possession of CDS along with a motor vehicle summons for Unclear License Plate. He was ROR with a pending court date.

 

 

 

Montclair Resident Killed in Fatal Irvington Crash

Authorities are investigating a motor vehicle crash that resulted in a motorist being fatally injured. At approximately 10:46 p.m. on Friday (12/16/16), Irvington police officers responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 700 block of Springfield Avenue. Arriving units observed that two vehicles, a Honda and a BMW had collided. The driver of the Honda was unresponsive and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Rabbiel Williams, age 32, of Montclair, NJ, according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly. The driver and passenger of the BMW were also injured. They were transported to an area hospital where they were treated and released.

This incident is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Task Force and the Irvington Police Department. The cause of the crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time, according to Fennelly.

Incident: Theft
Description: Officer Rivera responded to police headquarters where he met with the victim. The victim reported that after ordering new checks a set of checks were never received in the mail. Upon checking her account balance she observed that several checks were cashed by an unauthorized user. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Sgt. Manley at 973-748-5400 x 115.

Incident: Entered Vehicle
Description: Officer High responded to Willow Street on a report of a vehicle which was entered on the evening of 12/13/2016 between 7PM and 8 AM. The unknown actor removed some loose change from inside the vehicle. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Medico at 973-748-5400 x 120.

Date/Time: 12-13-2016 at 3:00 pm
Incident: Burglary
Description: The Glen Ridge Police Department is investigating a Burglary to a residence on Douglas Road which occurred at 3:30 PM. The subject forced entry by breaking a pane of glass adjacent to the front door and reaching in to unsecure the door. The subject then entered the residence and ransacked the master bedroom. Several items were removed. The subject was described as a Hispanic or light-skinned black male, 5’10” in height, 25-30 years old, thin build, dressed in black with a hooded sweatshirt. All residents are encouraged to keep their doors locked and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Sgt. Daniel Manley at 973-748-5400 x 115.

Incident: Harassing Phone Calls
Description: Officer Grogan responded to the 300 block of Bay Avenue, where he met with the victim who reported receiving unwanted phone calls from an unidentified party. This matter is currently under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact Det. Sgt. Daniel Manley at 973-748-5400 x 115.

Date/Time: 12-9-2016 at 12:17 am
Incident: Possession of CDS
Description: Officer Wilk observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation at the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue and Carteret Street. Upon investigation, the driver was identified to be a juvenile and found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. The identified juvenile was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was charged and later released. This matter has been referred to the Essex County Family Court.

During this week the Glen Ridge Police Department investigated (6) motor vehicle accidents.

 

 

 

Additional Homicide Charges Filed Against Khalil Wheeler-Weaver in Connection With Death of a Newark Woman

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray has announced that murder charges have been filed against Khalil Wheeler-Weaver in connection with death of Joanne Brown, age 33, of Newark. Brown’s body was discovered on December 5, 2016 in a vacant house in the 300 block of Highland Avenue in Orange, NJ. The cause of death was asphyxiation and the death was ruled a homicide.

After an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force, Wheeler-Weaver was charged with one count of Murder and one count of Disturbing Human Remains. Wheel-Weaver was charged earlier this month with Murder in connection with the death of Sarah Butler, age 20, of Montclair, whose body was discovered in Eagle Rock Reservation on December 1, 2016.

The new charges against Wheeler-Weaver were filed on Friday, December 16, 2016 , according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly, of the Prosecutor’s Homicide Squad. Bail was set at $5,000,000 by the Honorable John Gizzo, J.S.C. Wheeler-Weaver continues to be held in the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark. The arraignment of Wheeler-Weaver is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, 12/20/16 before the Honorable Ronald J. Wigler, P.J. Cr.

The investigations into the deaths of Brown and Butler are continuing, according to Fennelly. At this time, there is no indication that the victims knew each other.

Montclair Crime: Glen Ridge Man Arrested For DWI With Son in Car, Hit Several Parked Cars and Attempted to Flee

Montclair Crime: Storm-Related Incidents, Theft, Attempted Burglary

On December 12, 2016, Montclair PD report that Mr. Patrick Dwyer, 37 yoa from Glenridge, was arrested and charged with DWI after striking several parked cars along Bloomfield Avenue, then attempting to flee the scene. Mr. Dwyer’s 4 yoa son was discovered to be an occupant in the vehicle. The juvenile was evaluated by medical personnel. Mr. Dwyer was also issued multiple motor vehicle summonses. This incident is still under investigation.

Arrest:

12-14-2016 (South Fullerton Lot) Deborah Santiago, 47yoa from Montclair was arrested and charged with Possession of CDS. Officers were investigating after having observed Ms. Santiago asleep in her running vehicle.

12-17-2016 (Glenridge Avenue) Officers responded to a report of a vehicle stopped in traffic with the operator asleep at the wheel. Ms. Nicole McAndrew, 24yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with DWI.

12-16-2016 (Elm Street) Ms. Selena Duchantier, 18yoa from Montclair, was arrested after striking a man on the head with a bottle during an argument. The male, a 50yoa Montclair man was treated for a laceration to the head.

Assault:

12-16-2016 (Exxon Gas, Bloomfield Avenue) A physical altercation occurred inside the store between two adult males. One subject in this fight brandished a box-cutter, resulting in the other party sustaining a cut to the shin. The subject with the box cutter is described as a Black Male, approximately 25 years of age, between 5’08 and 6’00 feet tall, wearing a dark green or black hooded sweatshirt, and carrying a dark colored backpack. This subject fled on foot either north on Grove St or west on Bloomfield Ave. The other male was treated for his injury. This incident is currently under investigation.

Burglary/Theft:

12-17-2016 (Valley Road) Attempted burglary to an apartment. A window was discovered to have been forced open. Unknown on proceeds at this time.

 

 

Bloomfield Crime: Theft From Grave Headstones, Stolen Christmas Decorations, Prostitution Arrest at Health Spa, and More

The week in Bloomfield crime from Officer Ralph Marotti, Bloomfield Police Department:

Theft

12/12/2016- Several bronze vases from grave headstones were reported missing. Each vase is valued at $375.00 dollars and have been stolen over past few months from the Glendale Cemetery. Police are investigating all incidents.

12/12/2016- A cell phone was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Belleville Ave. The owner briefly went into a store leaving the vehicle unlocked. He returned to discover the window down and his IPhone 7 plus missing.

12/12/2016-Twenty dollars in loose change was reported stolen from a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder. The vehicle was parked overnight in the driveway of a residence on Merkel Drive.

12/13/2016- A package delivered to a residence on LaFrance Avenue was reported missing from the front door. The owner contacted the store and parcel service, who confirmed the delivery.

12/14/2016- Police were dispatched to the Rite Aid Store located at 77 Bloomfield Avenue on a reported shoplifting incident. Store employee reported a white male exited the store with a package of Ensure Baby Formula valued at $24.99. The store employee approached the suspect in the parking lot asking for proof of purchase. The suspect entered a vehicle and fled the parking lot. Information was provided to police for further investigation.

12/14/2016-A Christmas decoration valued at $60.00 dollars was reported stolen from the front lawn of a residence on Lindbergh Boulevard. The theft is believed to have occurred overnight.

12/14/2016-Arturo Deas age 45 of East Orange NJ was arrested at 8:30pm and charged with theft. Police were alerted to a shoplifter inside the ALDI’s Store located at 244 Bloomfield Avenue. The suspect concealed (4) bags of shrimp inside his jacket. Loss Prevention detained the suspect later identified as Arturo Deas until the arrival of police. Mr. Deas was charged accordingly and released with a pending court date.

12/15/2016- A package delivered to a residence on North 16th Street was reported missing. The package was left at the front door of the residence by US Postal at 3:45pm. The owner went to retrieve the item a short time after delivery and discovered the package missing.

12/15/2016- A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a church van. The incident is believed to have occurred in the last 30 days. The vehicle was parked in the rear of the property located at 1350 Broad Street.

12/15/2016- Payless Shoe Store located at 574 Bloomfield Avenue reported a shoplifting incident. The suspect described as a white male in his 40’s entered the store at approximately 6:00pm and stole a pair of shoes valued at $35.00 dollars.

12/15/2016-A Christmas Laser Light was stolen from the front lawn of a residence on Martin Street. The homeowner discovered the light missing an hour after turning on his lights at 7:30pm.

12/16/2016- Terri Garvin age 57 of East Orange NJ was arrested at 5:30pm and charged with shoplifting. Ms. Garvin attempted to walk out of the Stop & Shop Store with (4) bottles of laundry detergent. She was detained until the arrival of police. Ms. Garvin was issued a summons and released with a pending court date.

Motor Vehicle Theft

12/13/2016- A 2011 Kia Optima was reported stolen from the corner of Grace Street and Watsessing Avenue. The vehicle was parked and left running while the owner was speaking to a friend a short distance from the vehicle. The suspect described as a black male got into the vehicle and drove off towards East Orange. The owner’s cell phone was also inside the vehicle.

12/16/2016- A 2008 Ford Pick-up was reported stolen from the front of 544 Broad Street. The vehicle was parked and left running while the owner briefly went into the 7-Eleven Store. The vehicle was entered stolen.

Criminal Mischief

12/12/2016-Police responded to 306 Hoover Avenue on a report of graffiti. A retaining wall in front of the building was sprayed with red spray paint.

12/14/2016-Police were alerted to 4 different graffiti locations in the area of JFK North at the James Street Bridge. Public Grounds Supervisor discovered the spray-painted areas which were photographed and forwarded for further investigation. All graffiti was removed by the Department of Public Works.

12/15/2016- A vehicle parked in a parking lot on Bloomfield Avenue was damaged with spray paint. Unknown actor(s) sprayed the side of the vehicle with black spray paint.

Warrant Arrest

12/12/2016-Luis Rios age 31 of Bloomfield NJ was arrested at 11:33am for an active Bloomfield Warrant. Police initiated a motor vehicle stop after observing a Bloomfield Taxi disregard a traffic light on Bloomfield Avenue. The driver Luis Rios was found to have the active warrant. Mr. Rios was issued a motor vehicle summons and released after posting bail for the warrant.

12/12/2016-William Mead age 40 of Bloomfield was arrested at 8:00pm for an active warrant out of Elmwood Park. Police responded to a residence on Hill Street on a former boyfriend continually ringing an ex-girlfriends doorbell. Police located Mr. Mead in the area and discovered the active warrant. Mr. Mead was held until the arrival of Elmwood Park Police.

12/16/2016- Rodney Holman age 33 of East Orange NJ was arrested for an active warrant out of Bloomfield and Newark NJ. Police initiated a motor vehicle stop at North 17th Street for equipment violations and vehicle failing to stop at a posted stop sign. The front passenger, Mr. Holman, who was not wearing a seatbelt was found to have the active warrants. He was ROR’d and issued new court dates. The driver was issued the appropriate summons and released at the scene.

12/18/2016-Jihad Uthman age 38 of Montclair NJ was arrested at 10:30pm for an active Bloomfield Warrant. PO Kevin McMillan initiated a motor vehicle stop after observing a gold Saturn with accumulated ice and snow on the roof. The stop led to the discovery of the warrant. Mr. Uthman posted bail and was released with a new court date.

Prostitution

12/15/2016- Kim Hayeon age 58 of Flushing NY was arrested at 7:10pm and charged with Prostitution. Members of the Bloomfield Police Department under the command of Lt. Gary Peters conducted an investigation into complaints of prostitution being conducted at the Health Spa located at 599 Bloomfield Avenue. The investigation led to the arrest of Ms. Hayeon who was charged with one count of prostitution. She was issued a summons and released with a pending court date.

DUI

12/13/2016-Alba Reyes age 39 of Belleville was arrested at 1:43am and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. Sgt. Luca Piscitelli reports observing a green Toyota driving erratically on Franklin Street. Sgt. Piscitelli initiated a motor vehicle stop, at which time he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath. Further observations along with Field Sobriety testing led the Sergeant to believe she was highly intoxicated and had operated her vehicle while under the influence. She was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters. Ms. Reyes was charged accordingly and ROR’d with a pending court date.

12/13/2016-Glauber Barbosa age 30 of Vancouver Washington was arrested at 11:13pm and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. PO Argenis Vargas and PO Reuben Rivera reports observing a Chevrolet Van traveling at excessive speeds on Bloomfield Avenue. During the motor vehicle stop, officers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver of the vehicle. The driver, Glauber Barbosa was placed under arrest after the officers observations along with Field Sobriety Testing led them to believe he was operating his vehicle while under the influence. He was issued the proper summons and later released under the care of a friend.

11/17/2016-Nelson Tames age 34 of Newark NJ was arrested at 11:11pm and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. Sgt. Luca Piscitelli observed a silver Acura traveling on the wrong side of 1st Avenue. A motor vehicle top was conducted near the intersection of North 13th Street. The driver Nelson Tames, speech was slurred and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanated from his breath. Mr. Tames was asked to exit the vehicle to conduct Field Sobriety Testing. Sgt. Piscitelli observations of Mr. Tames during the testing led him to believe he was intoxicated. He was transported to police headquarters and issued summons for D.W.I., Reckless Driving, Unlicensed Driver, and Failure to Keep Right. Mr. Tames was also found to have an outstanding Bloomfield warrant in the amount of $500.00 dollars.

CDS

12/15/2016-Pablo Estevez age 18 of Bloomfield NJ was arrested at 2:38am and charged with Possession of CDS. PO Joseph Condito and PO Ana Ruiz initiated a motor vehicle stop on Ward Street for an equipment violation. During the stop officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle. Officers located suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. Police confiscated 4.5 grams of marijuana, silver grinder and a digital scale. The driver Mr. Estevez was transported to police headquarters and charged accordingly. He was released with a pending court date.

 

 

 


UPDATED: Report Of Carjacking on Glenridge Ave., Montclair

UPDATE 12/27: D/Lt. David O’Dowd of the Montclair Police Department just released some more information:

On 12-26-2016 at approximately 7:13pm, the occupants of a black 2010 Subaru Legacy were carjacked at gunpoint in the area of Forest Street at Glenridge Avenue. The victims, (a 24yoa male from Medford and a 24yoa female from Bloomfield) we seated in the vehicle in the Mid-Town parking Lot, when they observed a black Jeep Liberty pull into a nearby parking space. Two males then exited the Jeep and approached the driver and passenger side of the victim’s vehicle. Suspect #1, is described as a black male, approximately 5’10-5’11 in height with long dreadlocks wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and skull cap. This suspect proceeded to knock on the driver side window of the victim’s vehicle with a black semi-automatic handgun. Suspect #2 is described as a black male approximately 5’06-‘5’07 in height wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and skull cap. This suspect approached the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle, brandishing a black semiautomatic handgun. The suspects then ordered the victims out of their vehicle. The suspects fled with the victim’s vehicle, along with the black Jeep Liberty, eastbound on Glenridge Avenue. The victim’s vehicle was later recovered, unoccupied, in the city of Newark. There were no injuries reported in this incident.

 

Montclair Police responded to a report of an armed carjacking tonight on Glenridge Ave & Forest Street at 7:14 p.m..

The vehicle, a black 2010 Subaru Legacy, was allegedly taken at gunpoint by a suspect described as a black male. The car had an NJ license plate #H56-FGN. A black jeep was also reportedly seen accompanying the stolen vehicle. Baristanet will update as more information becomes available.

Description: While conducting traffic enforcement on Woodland Avenue Officer Nugent observed a vehicle speeding. Upon affecting a motor vehicle stop, the driver was determined to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Mr. Fritz Moncion, 19, of Linden, NJ was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed. He was issued a summons for speeding and charged with possession of CDS in a school zone, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, and possession of CDS paraphernalia. This matter has been referred to the Essex County Superior Court.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over: The Glen Ridge Police Department is currently participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled over campaign which is a statewide campaign to enforce Drunk Driving. Residents of the community are urged to drive safely this Holiday season. The campaign ends on January 1st, 2017.

12-22-2016 (Bloomfield Avenue) Mr. Derek Hyppolite, 32yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with Possession of CDS, as a result of a motor vehicle stop.

12-26-2016 (Whole Foods, Bloomfield Avenue) Mr. Russell Ely, 25yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with Shoplifting numerous personal hygiene items.

Burglary/Theft:

12-21-2016 (Monroe Place) Burglary to an apartment. Access was gained through a rear door. A laptop and headphones were taken in this incident.

12-23-2016 (Maple Avenue) Theft of Christmas decorations from in front of a commercial establishment.

12-23-2016 (Walnut Street) A resident reported observing a male walking into their second floor apartment. When confronted, the male claimed to be from FedEx, and quickly fled the scene. This suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’9″ to 5’11”, approximately 30 years of age, 170 to 185 pounds, with a goatee, wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt.

Bloomfield Police Arrest 3 in Connection With Robberies in Bloomfield and Belleville

crimeBloomfield police arrested 3 suspects (Lee Jones, 23, of Newark; Isaiah Hayes, 21, of Newark; and Worthy Shannon, 18, of Bloomfield) in connection with robberies that took place in Bloomfield and Belleville. Three suspects were charged with two counts of Robbery in Bloomfield (Lexington Ave and Willard) and one count of robbery in Belleville (Harrison Street)

The full report from Officer Ralph Marotti of the Bloomfield PD:

On December 23, 2016 at approximately 6:00pm Bloomfield Police were dispatched to Lexington Avenue on a reported Robbery. The female victim a Bloomfield resident reported she was robbed at the intersection of Lexington Ave and Florence Ave. The victim stated two black males exited a small vehicle and approached her pushing her to the ground. She was choked and robbed of her bag containing money and identification. The suspects fled towards Grove St. The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Shortly before the call of the robbery at Lexington Ave, Belleville experienced a robbery at 73 Harrison Street with two suspects and vehicle matching the robbery in Bloomfield. The information from both robberies were relayed to surrounding police agencies with a description of the suspects and vehicle.

An Essex County Sheriff’s Patrol Unit located the suspect vehicle and initiated a motor vehicle stop on Watsessing Ave near the entrance of 8 Franklin Street. Bloomfield and Belleville Units arrived on scene to assist with the stop. The motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of three suspects along with the recovery of property belonging to the victim of the Bloomfield Robbery and Belleville Robbery. The items were located inside the suspect’s vehicle

All three suspects were charged with Robbery, Receiving Stolen Property, Conspiracy and Possession of CDS. Honorable Judge Pirone set a bail amount of $75,000.00 with no 10% for Lee Jones and Worthy Shannon and a bail amount of $50,000 with no 10% option for Isaiah Hayes.

The suspects were additionally charged with the robbery occurring on Willard Avenue on 12/23/2016 at 5:00pm. The victim a juvenile male was robbed of money and his cell phone.

Police Director Samuel DeMaio commended the collaborative work amongst the three agencies in bringing these extremely dangerous criminals to justice. We have an extreme value for our partnerships with our neighboring agencies.

While on scene, the driver, Mr. Justin Villatoro, 20 years old, of Bloomfield, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and possession of CDS. This matter has been referred to the Glen Ridge Municipal Court.

Description: Sergeant Schwartz was on Patrol when he observed a suspicious vehicle on Victor Avenue. Upon investigation, it was determined that the occupants of the vehicle were under the influence of CDS. Mr. Philip Marrow, 21, of Newark, Mr. Keyshawn Midwinter, 20, of Irvington, and Mr. Orlando Campbell, 21 of East Orange were placed under arrest for Possession of CDS and being under the influence of CDS. While investigation the incident, Mr. Gequan Cantey, 20, of Orange was charged with Possession of CDS and Unlawful Poss. of a Weapon as he was found to be in possession of a toy B.B. gun. This matter has been referred to the Essex County Superior Court.

Arrest:

01-01-2017 (Park Street) Ms. Maya Morris, 38yoa from Montclair, was arrested for an open warrant out of Montclair for $350. This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop.

12-31-2016 (Heratij, Bloomfield Avenue) Mr. Khari Bradley, 20yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with shoplifting. He was found to have stolen clothing items in his possession.

Burglary/Theft:

12-30-2016 (Clarewill Avenue) Residents discovered that while they were home, an unknown person had entered their kitchen through a rear door and stolen the contents of a purse. This suspect had also entered their vehicle, parked in the driveway of the home. Cash was taken in this incident.

12-30-2016 (Park Street) An unlocked vehicle, parked in a residential driveway, was entered. An attempt was also made to enter the rear door of that residence. Nothing was noticed missing at this time.

12-31-2016 (Maple Avenue) theft from an unlocked motor vehicle. A pocketbook was taken in this incident.

12-31-2016 (Christopher Street) Police responded to a report of a male walking through backyards in that area. (This was reported during the timeframe of the burglaries on Clarewill Avenue and Park Street) Callers on Lorraine Avenue also reported seeing this subject walking through back yards. This suspect was described as a light skin black or Hispanic male, approximately 5’9” in height, wearing dark clothing, having facial hair and possibly wearing a red beanie style hat. Essex County Sheriff K-9 was requested in an effort to locate this subject, with no findings.

01-01-2017 (Miller Street) A parked motor vehicle was entered by breaking a side window. Unknown on any proceeds at this time.

Theft

12/26/2016-A woman’s purse was stolen from the lobby of an apartment building located at 1246 Broad Street. The purse was mistakenly left in the lobby while packages were being carried to an apartment. The purse contained cash and personal identifications.

12/27/2016- A theft was reported from the backyard of a residence on Maple Street. A gold minivan with tinted windows was observed pulling into the driveway. A suspect described as a white male was observed taking a red air compressor and placing into the van. The theft occurred on 12/26/2016 at approximately 1:00pm. Police are actively investigating the theft.

12/28/2016-A package was reported stolen from a Lexington Avenue residence. The theft is believed to have occurred on 12/26 between the hours of 2:30 and 3:00pm. The package was confirmed delivered and left on the door step of the residence.

12/28/2016-Frances Henry age 55 of Newark NJ was arrested at 5:06pm and charged with Shoplifting at the 7-Eleven Store located at 122 Bloomfield Ave. Ms. Henry was observed by a store employee take several packs of red bull drink and exit the store. The thefts were also captured on store security video. Ms. Henry was also in possession of a glass tube commonly used to inhale a CDS. She was charged accordingly and ROR with a pending court date.

01/01/2017-David Bittle age 47 of Newark NJ was arrested at 8:31pm and charged with shoplifting at the Stop & Shop Store located at 8 Franklin Street. Loss Prevention observed Mr. Bittle place store items inside his pants and attempt to exit the store. He was detained until the arrival of the police. Mr. Bittle was also found to be in possession of a counterfeit $100.00 dollar bill. He was charged accordingly and released with a pending court date.

Motor Vehicle Theft

12/26/2016-2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen at approximately 7:00pm from the corner of Berkeley Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue. The vehicle was left running while the owner was speaking with his employee. An unknown person entered the vehicle and drove off towards Watsessing Avenue.

12/26/2016-2003 Ford F250 truck was stolen from the parking lot of 440 Franklin Street. The truck was last seen parked on 12/24/2016 at 6pm. The vehicle was also equipped with a snow plow. Broken glass was discovered on the ground, where the vehicle was last parked.

12/31/2016-2015 Maserati GHI color white was stolen after the owner left the vehicle running while inside a store located at 406 Bloomfield Avenue. The vehicle was seen driving off east on Bloomfield Avenue. No description of the actor.

Theft from Auto

12/26/2016-2015 Nissan GTR parked at 318 Bloomfield was broken into with a gym bag reported missing. The driver side window was partially broken and removed from the vehicle. The theft was discovered later in the evening at 8:00pm.

01/01/2017-Police are investigating a theft from a motor vehicle parked on Division Street. The vehicle described as a 2010 Chrysler Wagon was parked overnight and left unlocked. Several other vehicles parked in the area were also entered with no items reported missing. The incidents are believed to have occurred overnight with all the vehicle left unlocked.

Burglary

12/27/2016- A home on Berkeley Ave was burglarized between 12/23/2016 and 12/27/2016. The homeowner returned home and discovered her laptop and a necklace missing. A bedroom door was also discovered damaged as a result of being forced open. Detective Bureau actively investigating incident.

12/27/2016-A home on Craig Place was burglarized while the homeowners were away for the holiday. A jewelry box containing numerous pieces of jewelry was missing from the master bedroom. Police are actively investigating the Burglary.

12/27/2016-Gustavo Alameda age 23 of Newark NJ was arrested at 9:08pm and charged with Attempted Burglary into a Motor vehicle. PO Joseph Davis and PO Nicholas Mauriello were dispatched to Linden Avenue on a suspicious person. Officers located the person fitting the description given out by a resident on Linden Ave. The suspect was observed by police attempting to gain entry into a parked vehicle. Mr. Alameda was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. He was additionally charged with giving false information to police, after providing a false name and address.

Criminal Mischief

12/26/2016-Police discovered graffiti in several areas of the train station located at 250 Glenwood Avenue. (4) Locations were sprayed with black spray paint. The graffiti was photographed for further investigation.

Warrant Arrest

12/26/2016-Mason Boccardo age 25 of Montclair was arrested at 2:53am for (2) active Montclair Warrants. PO Godson Noel while on patrol observed a vehicle on Highfield Road with the passenger door open. Officers located Mr. Boccardo walking in the area and conducted a field inquiry, which led to the discovery of the (2) warrants. Mr. Boccardo was transported to Montclair PD without incident. The vehicle door was possibly left open by the owner.

12/30/2016-Quwan Ward age 39 of Newark NJ was arrested at 9:00am for an active East Orange Warrant in the amount of $750.00 dollars. PO Stefano Barillari initiated a motor vehicle stop which led to the discovery of the warrant. Mr. Ward was additionally issued a summons for driving with a suspended driver license. He was later released after posting bail and receiving a new court date from East Orange.

Aggravated Assault

12/29/2016-Willie Brooks age 32 of Belleville was arrested at 4:40pm and charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Police were dispatched to a residence on Edison Street on a report of an assault with a baseball bat. Police arrived and arrested Mr. Brooks for striking the victim a 33 year old male in the arm and head causing bruising and swelling. Mr. Brooks admitted to striking the victim after he heard derogatory comments about his dog. Mr. Brooks was released after posting bail.

CDS

12/26/2016-Jose Montijo age 40 of Colonia NJ was arrested at 6:47pm and charged with Possession of CDS. Lt. Nicholas Polidoro observed a vehicle swerving in and out of lanes on Bloomfield Avenue. A motor vehicle stop led to the discovery of a glassine envelope containing suspected heroin. Mr. Montijo claimed ownership of the CDS and was placed under arrest. A second glassine envelope was discovered in Mr. Montijo shoe during his processing at police headquarters. Mr. Montijo was held awaiting the arrival of the Essex County Sheriff Department on (2) active warrants. The driver of the vehicle was issued the appropriate summons and released at the scene.

12/26/2017-Mohammad Abu age 23 of Garfield NJ was arrested at 10:00pm and charged with Possession of CDS. PO Joseph Davis observed a vehicle traveling on Grove Street in violation of Safety Glass Requirement. A motor vehicle stop was initiated which led to the discovery of marijuana after the officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Mr. Abu was issued a summons for Possession of marijuana and released with a pending court date.

12/27/2016-Daniel Needs age 31 of Vermont was arrested at 12:39am and charged with Possession of CDS. Police were dispatched to a residence on Hill Street regarding an unwanted party. Mr. Needs was visiting his friend and was asked to leave the residence after having an argument with his friend. Police arrived and discovered Mr. Needs to have a Glen Ridge Warrant. He was found to be in possession of (3) glass vials of suspected cocaine and (1) glassine envelope of suspected heroin. Mr. Needs was charged 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. He was held in lieu of bail set at $10,000.00 with 10% option.

12/30/2016-Joseph Alexander age 25 of Bethlehem Pa was arrested at 10:01pm and charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. PO Timothy Kealy and PO Damian Sorrentino initiated a motor vehicle stop on Conger Street for darkly tinted windows. The passenger Mr. Alexander was found to be in possession of a Xanax pill a scheduled narcotic without any prescription. Mr. Alexander was charged accordingly and released with a pending court date. The driver was issued the appropriate motor vehicle summons and released at the scene.

01-04-2017 (Maple Plaza Lot) A hit-and-run accident occurred on Watchung Avenue in which a green Toyota Sienna struck a black Volkswagen and then fled the scene. The occupants of the Volkswagen followed the fleeing vehicle to the Maple Plaza Lot. Mr. Joseph O’Neill, 26yoa from Rutherford, then exited the Toyota, brandishing a baseball bat, and proceeded to threaten the occupants of the Volkswagen. O’Neill was arrested and charged with Possession of a weapon, Possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Terroristic Threats, and Obstructing Administration of Law. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for the hit-and-run accident.

Burglary/Theft:

01-03-2017 (Cross Street) Theft of a 2009 gray Mercedes Benz from a residential driveway. The vehicle in question had been left running and unattended. This vehicle was later recovered, unoccupied, in Newark.

01-03-2017 (Charles Street) Attempted burglary of a residence which is currently under construction. Entry was made by damaging a basement door. Nothing was noticed missing in this incident.

01-03-2017 (Christopher Street) Burglary to a residence, while the occupants were home. Entry was made through an unlocked rear door. A laptop was taken from the kitchen area.

01-05-2017 (Laurel Place) Theft of Christmas decorations from the front lawn of a residence.

01-07-2017 (Mt. Vernon Road) Theft of a white 2014 Toyota Sequoia from a residential driveway. They keys were inside the vehicle at the time of this theft.

01-08-2017 (Cooper Avenue) Burglary to a residence through a rear window. A watch and small electronics were taken.

Miscellaneous:

01-03-2017 (Elm Street) Vandalism to a motor vehicle. A piece of concrete was thrown through the front windshield. This vehicle was parked in a residential driveway at the time of the incident.

Description: Officer Grogan responded to the Forest Avenue on a report of a Criminal Mischief and Trespassing which occurred on 12/31/2016 between 12PM and 2PM. The resident reported observing that the fence to her property was damaged by an unknown party who may have tried to climb over the fence. Description: Sergeant Medico and Officer High responded to Forest Avenue on a dispute between a taxi driver and customer. Upon arriving, both parties were separated, the customer stated he paid the fair, however was disappointed with the service. The driver and customer were sent on their way without any further interaction.

Theft

01/02/2017-Alexandri Thomas age 18 of Bloomfield NJ was arrested at 1:41pm and charged with shoplifting at the Stop & Shop Store located at 8 Franklin Street. Loss Prevention observed Ms. Thomas place store items inside a shopping bag and exited the store without paying. She was detained until the arrival of the police. Ms. Thomas was charged with Theft and released with a pending court date.

01/02/2017- A resident on Glenwood Avenue reported a package was stolen from the front of his house between the hours of 1:00pm and 6:00pm. The package was delivered by US Postal and left at the door. The owner discovered the package opened with the contents missing. The package contained a remote control helicopter valued at $250.00 dollars.

01/04/2017-Mason Yu age 65 of Newark NJ was arrested at 3:11pm and charged with shoplifting at the Stop & Shop Store located at 8 Franklin Street. Loss Prevention observed Mr. Yu place store items inside a Nike bag and exited the store without paying. He was detained until the arrival of the police. Ms. Yu was charged with Theft and released with a pending court date.

01/04/2017- Two residents on Ferncliff Road reported packages were stolen from the front of their residence. The thefts are believed to have occurred on separate dates. The owners did confirm the delivery of their packages. Police are actively investigating both incidents.

01/05/2017- Tracey Bailey age 53 of Bloomfield NJ was arrested at 9:14am and charged with Shoplifting. The store manager of the Super Foodtown located at 296 Glenwood reported he observed Ms. Bailey place store items under her clothes. Police arrived and discovered the stolen merchandise in her possession. Ms. Bailey was found to have pants under her skirt, tied with rubber band that aided in the concealment of the merchandise. Ms. Bailey was additionally charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Hindering Apprehension. She was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility on a wanted person warrant.

01/06/2017- Beinda Makara age 41 of Haledon NJ was arrested at 1:46pm and charged with Shoplifting at the CVS Store located at 331 Broad Street. Police were alerted to the theft and located the suspect Ms. Makara a short distance from the store. Ms. Makara was found to be in possession of the stolen items described as Hygiene products valued at $98.87 dollars. Ms. Makara was issued a summons and released with a pending court date.

Motor Vehicle Theft

01/04/2017-A 2005 Ford Van was reported stolen from West Street. The owner last seen the truck on 12/30/2016. The vehicle had tools inside the vehicle valued at approximately $5,000.00 dollars.

01/08/2017- A 2005 Toyota 2-door color black was reported stolen from the area of 33 Bloomfield Avenue. Police arrived and spoke with the owner who stated she left the car running while inside the laundry mat. A black male wearing a yellow coat was observed getting into the vehicle and driving away towards Chester Avenue.

DUI

01/02/2017-Almajid Bennet age 31 of Newark was arrested at 2:00am and charged with DUI. Police Officers Timothy Kealy and Michael Cumming while on patrol observed a red Toyota traveling on Bloomfield Avenue at an excessive speed. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop which led to Mr. Bennet’s arrest. An open can of Budweiser Beer was also located inside the vehicle. Mr. Bennet was issued the appropriate summons and later released to the custody of a friend.

Burglary

01/04/2017-Police were dispatched to Watchung Avenue on a reported commercial burglary. An employee reported arriving to work at 6:00am and discovering the front glass door broken. Reported missing was money and an undisclosed amount of cigarettes. The business is equipped with security camera’s which will be forwarded to police for further investigation.

Suspicious Activity

01/06/2017-Takecia Harrison age 43 of East Orange NJ was arrested at 12:34am for an active Bloomfield Warrant. Police were dispatched to Glenwood Avenue on a female party stopping cars and soliciting money. Police arrived and observed the female in question. The female identified as Ms. Harrison was issued a summons for panhandling and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility on the active warrant.

Warrant Arrest

01/02/2017- Jamal Williams age 22 of Monsey NY was arrested at 1:24am for an active East Orange Warrant. Police initiated a motor vehicle stop at Ampere parkway and Floyd Street for an unregistered vehicle. The vehicle was being operated by Mr. Williams. Vehicle was impounded and Mr. Williams was transported to police headquarters. He was issued the proper motor vehicle summons and ROR with a new court date issued by East Orange PD.

01/04/2017-Latifah Abdalmajied age 30 of East Orange NJ was arrested at 1:00am for an active Elizabeth Warrant in the amount of $500.00 dollars and a Point Pleasant Beach warrant in the amount of $403.00 dollars. PO Joseph Condito initiated a motor vehicle on LaFrance Avenue after observing a gray Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver Ms. Abdalmajied was transported to police headquarters where she posted bail and was released with a new court date. Ms. Abdalmajied was issued a motor vehicle summons for driving while suspended.

01/04/2017-Michael Yournet age 37 of Elizabeth NJ was arrested at 12:40pm for an active Linden Warrant in the amount $432.00 dollars. Mr. Yournet was operating an unregistered motor vehicle with a suspended driver license. Police Officers Salvatore Cordi and Eric Capito initiated the motor vehicle stop after observing the vehicle, a black Ford Escape with no rear license plate. Mr.Yournet was issued the appropriate motor vehicle summons and held awaiting the arrival of Linden PD.

01/05/2017-Janet Kutner age 38 of Montclair NJ was arrested at 9:23am for an active traffic warrant out of Bloomfield. Ms. Kutner was operating a vehicle with a suspended registration. The vehicle was observed traveling on Williamson Avenue, when police were alerted to the violation. Ms. Kutner was issued two summons and released after satisfying the traffic warrant.

CDS

01/03/2017-Patrick Brown age 34 of Irvington NJ was arrested at 12:35pm and charged with Possession of CDS. Police Officers Glen Capito and Nelson Chamba initiated a motor vehicle stop on Bloomfield Avenue for an expired vehicle registration. During the stop officer’s detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle. Upon further investigation, three small zip lock bags of suspected marijuana were discovered inside the vehicle. Mr. Brown who was also a suspended driver was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. He was issued motor vehicle summons and ROR with a pending court date.

Description: Sergeant Schwartz and Officer Oliva stopped a vehicle for a motor vehicle violation. Upon investigation, it was determined that the driver, Mr. Jeffrey Agee, 33 of East Orange, had active warrants for his arrest and was hindering his own apprehension by providing false identification to the Officers. This matter has been referred to the Glen Ridge Municipal Court.

Description: Officer Holley and Officer Oliva responded to Mitchell Avenue to investigate a suspicious vehicle. While on scene, the driver of the vehicle was determined to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Mr. David Naiken, 21 of Bloomfield, was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters and processed. This matter has been referred to the Glen Ridge Municipal Court.

Description: Officer Holley and Sergeant Schwartz responded to the 100 block of Ridgewood Avenue where they met with the victim. The victim reported that between 8PM and 11PM his vehicle was stolen from outside the residence. The vehicle was later recovered by the Orange Police Department. 01-09-2017 (New Street) Mr. Eric Buie, 45yoa from Montclair, was arrested on open warrants out of Middletown ($1000.00), Atlantic Highlands ($600.00). Keansburg ($170.00)

01-11-2017 (North Willow Street) Mr. Sonny Cash, 34yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of CDS following an altercation in the street.

01-15-2017 (Park Street) Mr. Erik Robbs, 49yoa from Montclair, was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Newark ($1000), Watchung ($500)

01-12-2017 (Exxon Gas, Bloomfield Avenue) On 12-16-2016, a physical altercation occurred inside the store between two adult males. One subject in this fight brandished a box-cutter, resulting in the other party sustaining a cut to the shin. The victim was treated for his injury. Through investigation, Mr. Sonny Cash, 34yoa from Montclair, was charged with Aggravated Assault and Weapon Possession.

01-13-2017 (Valley Road) Ms. Jacquelin Richards, 34yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Obstruction, and Resisting Arrest, following a dispute.

01-11-2017 (Monroe Place) Burglary to an apartment. A Sony Playstation was taken in this incident.

01-12-2017 (Claremont Avenue) Theft of a delivered package from the front porch of a home. The suspect is described as a black male between 5’6” and 5’10” in height, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a white T-shirt underneath, dark sweat pants and sneakers.

01-12-2017 (Quick Chek, Valley Road) Shoplifting of various food items. The suspect is described as a white male early 20’s, thin build, approximately 6 feet tall, clean shaven, brown or black hair, wearing a green coat, with dark pants and sneakers.

01-13-2017 (The Crescent) Attempted burglary to a residence. An attempt had been made to force a door open. No entry was gained in this incident.

01-14-2017 (North Fullerton Parking Deck) Theft from a parked vehicle. A purse was taken in this incident. A rear passenger window was smashed to gain entry.
